Stories are a way of documenting that which bonds us together in universal experience. That being said this book and it's story does indeed do the job. I am a tough taskmaster when it comes to writing because I am one. Sally Breach managed to make me laugh and cry as I read the story of the classic dumping of a middle aged woman by her ego driven husband for the mid-life trophy vixen wife.I literally read this at the beach and enjoyed the entertaining way the protagonist, Jules and her husband of 30 years negotiate the proverbial transformation to individuation that is required of all of us in one way or another to become better people. Needless to say I would have to give away the journey they and their offspring take to achieve that end. The trip to the south of France is one of the fun ways Ms. Breach carries her readers to the somewhat surprising end. As for me I would have probably taken a golf club to the errant husband but alas, I am not so forgiving as some.
This is a great read and S.B. is a very entertaining story teller...what more can we ask.
